Bublee

A Mixed Reality communication prototype.

Bublee was created to make programming logic accessible and engaging for young children (ages 6-8), with a unique focus on providing a fully bilingual Welsh and English experience. The project's goal was to abstract complex coding concepts into simple, visual commands that players could use to guide a robot, BOT, through a series of puzzles across 10 different planets.

As the lead developer at Dojo Arcade, I was responsible for the entire technical execution of the game in Unity. I designed and built the core drag-and-drop programming mechanic, developed the level progression system, and optimized the game for a smooth performance on a wide range of iOS devices. A key challenge was creating an intuitive, language-agnostic UI that was easily understood by young children, ensuring the gameplay was fun and the educational goals were met seamlessly.

Project Insights & Key Learnings

Hackathons are an incredible environment for rapid prototyping and pushing creative boundaries. This project demonstrated how constraints (time, platform limitations) can actually drive innovation, forcing the team to focus on core experiences rather than feature creep.
